In addition to natural shelter, the site has several small artificial reefs, a sunken vessel, and several underwater sculptures. You will have to find out for yourself why it’s called Šimuni Springs when you come to the center.
The entry is from a beach west of the center, and the dive runs between 18 and 30 metres. There is more here than natural reef: the site has several small artificial reefs, a sunken vessel and several underwater sculptures, so the dive becomes a route from one structure to the next.
The site is abundant in fish and cephalopods, and seahorses are frequent visitors. An average dive lasts about 45 minutes. Why the place is called Šimuni Springs is something you will have to find out for yourself when you come to the center.
Open Water is the minimum category, and the deeper end of the range is only for divers certified for it. There are no special requirements.
It suits divers who want a shore dive with more variety than a plain training site, and photographers who want structures to work with. Because you enter from the beach, you set your own pace and can end the dive whenever you want.
