Shipwreck

The wreckage of a German wooden ship from the Second World War lie scattered at a depth of 22-25 meters.

The wood has completely decayed, and only certain metal parts are visible. In addition to the ship’s original parts, several chains are also visible, these were left behind after an attempt to raise the vessel, when only the engine and fuel tanks were salvaged. The dive continues to 18 or 40 meters beyond the wreckage, depending on the dive plan.

How the dive goes

The remains of the ship lie scattered between 22 and 25 metres. The wood has completely decayed, so what you actually see are metal parts, and next to them several chains that were left behind after an attempt to raise the vessel, when only the engine and the fuel tanks were salvaged.

Because the pieces are spread across the seabed rather than gathered in one hull, the dive works as a slow search: you move from part to part and read the ship from what is left. After the wreck the dive continues either at around 18 metres or down to about 40, depending on the plan agreed at the briefing. An average dive lasts about 45 minutes.

Who this site suits

The minimum category is Open Water, which makes this one of the few wrecks near Pag that a certified beginner can dive. There is nothing to penetrate: the hull is gone, and everything is seen from the outside.

Where the group goes after the wreck depends on the certification level in the water, so tell us your experience when you book. Divers who are certified only to entry-level depths stay on the shallower continuation.
