How the dive goes

There are five caverns at this site, large and small, and the dive is a tour of them. You can enter each one. What divers remember is what happens on the way out: the same bubbles of air that you exhaled inside come seeping out of the ground, because the stone above the cavern is hollow and porous.

A lamp is required, and it is what makes the interiors worth entering at all. The maximum depth is 39 metres and the site is far enough from the center to carry a surcharge. An average dive lasts about 45 minutes.

Who this site suits

You need an Advanced certification, a dive logged within the past three months and an underwater lamp.

Caverns reward divers who are slow and calm. You go in one at a time, you keep your fins off the bottom so the silt stays down, and you always keep the way out in sight. If overhead environments make you uneasy, you can stay outside and still have a good dive: the caverns are the highlight, not the whole site.
